OUR COMPANY

Kubuni’s furniture portrays honesty and simplicity in its designs, we believe that the objects we choose to live with should help create a space that is inviting, restful, and a place of sanctuary.

Kubuni combines traditional pencil and paper with cutting-edge computer modeling. We carefully choose the right materials and work closely with Kenyan craftsmen to ensure each design becomes a beautifully finished piece of furniture. Our Kenyan craftsmen are highly skilled with years of experience. This may not be the cheapest or easiest way to make furniture, but we believe it’s worth it.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Jaini Shah, the founder of Kubuni, is a Kenyan furniture designer with an educational background in Product Design and Design Management. With a strong passion for product and furniture design, Jaini has curated a wealth of experience with 7 years of working within the furniture design industry, both in Kenya and the United Kingdom.

Jaini has end-to-end knowledge of the furniture design industry, from designing and prototyping to manufacturing and delivering of finished products. Additionally, she has an understanding of how to use timber machines, materials, and processes along with the use of CAD programs SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

Her research In the Masters of Design Management focused on sustainability, policies, and methods companies can take to contribute to the sustainability triangle and project management contract work as well as encourage other companies wishing to practice sustainable methods in their supply, and value chains. Today, Jaini Shah with Kubuni is taking small steps to include sustainable measures in her work.

Jaini Shah hopes and believes that with your support and orders; She will be helping you make that small contribution to economic and social sustainability here in Kenya.
